ALL INDIA FEDERATION OF POWER DIPLOMA ENGINEERS (AIFOPDE)

 

          The All India Power Diploma Engineers is a federation consisting of organizations of Diploma Engineers functioning in the State Electricity Boards / Corporations / Companies.

 

          All the Diploma Engineers organizations in the Electricity Industry under the control of the State Government /Central Government are eligible to become members of the AIFOPDE.

 

          The members of the State units are members of the AIFOPDE.  The state units depending up on the strength of their members have to pay the annual subscriptions fixed by the AIFOPDE from time to time.  

 

Following are the constituent bodies of the AIFOPDE.

 

North Zone :   Punjab,Himachal Pradesh,Uttar Pradesh.UttarKhand,Delhi.

West Zone  :   Madhya Pradesh,Chattisgarh,Goa.

East Zone   :   Bihar,Jharkand,Odisha,West Bengal,Assam and Meghalaya.

South Zone :  Andra Pradesh,Karnataka,Tamil Nadu,Pondicherry.

The Cabinet consists of 29 office bearers including the President, Secretary General and the Finance Secretary.

 

Aims and Objectives:-

a)            All India Federation of Power Diploma Engineers will provide a common platform to Diploma Engineers working in power industry of country to maintain and safeguard the dignity and honour of engineering profession.

b)           It will work to promote the sense of fraternity, brotherhood and cooperation among the members in the interest of Industry and Country.

c)            Finding out the ways and means to solve the unemployment problem of Diploma Engineers and enhance the status of power diploma engineers working in different organizations/sectors of the power industry.

d)            To rationalize service conditions, working conditions of power diploma engineers.

e)            To improve technical knowledge of power diploma engineers by all means in the interest of power industry.

f)             To draw the attention of Government / Administration towards the common demand of power diploma engineers to avoid industrial unrest.

g)            To work for welfare of power diploma engineers and power industry in the interest of country.

Latest action Programme:

 

          The AIFOPDE observed “Demands Day” on 12.12.12 throughout the country more than one lakh engineers participated in the Demands Day.

 

CHARTER OF DEMANDS

AIFOPDE requests the Government of India and the State Governments to;

 

1.             Review the implications of the Electricity Act 2003 and to drop the proposals to franchise /privatize the distribution wings of the SEB/Corporations.

2.            Declare 10+2 (Higher Secondary System) as a minimum educational qualification for admission in to a three years diploma courses to further improve the quality of diploma education.

3.            Ensure Uniform Recruitment Policy (URP) (Entry level posts earmarked for Diploma Engineers must be filled only with Diploma Engineers not by other/higher qualified persons), Uniform Service Conditions (USC) and Uniform Pay Structure (UPS)for diploma engineers throughout the country.

4.            Create separate fund for ensuring the pension and terminal benefits including Gratuity of all the Employees (working and retired) of the power sector.

5.            Ensure minimum three – “Time bound promotions / Promotional Pay” to all the employees of Power sector throughout the country.

6.            Ensure separate promotional gallery for diploma Engineers from the posts of Assistant Executive Engineer, Executive Engineer and Superintending Engineer.

 

          The AIFOPDE is a non-political organization functioning in India for welfare of Power Diploma Engineers.
